The East End Food Co-op Federal Credit Union (EEFCFCU) recognizes the importance of the confidential nature of the information that it must maintain for its membership. The Board of Directors has developed procedures that protect your information and guard against inadvertent, improper or unauthorized release thereof.
Types of Information Collected. At EEFCFCU, we collect nonpublic personal information about our members from a variety of sources. From you, the member, we collect personal data on membership and other account applications, loan applications and their required attachments, and in the course of over-the-counter transactions. We also collect information as a result of transactions between you and other parties. These transactions include, but are not limited to electronic transactions such as direct deposit (ACH). We also collection information from our credit reporting agency.
Types of Information Disclosed. EEFCFCU does not disclose any nonpublic, personal information about our members and former members to affiliates or non-affiliated third parties except as permitted by law and as required in the daily business of the credit union. At no time will we disclose your Social Security number.
Third Parties to Whom We Disclose Information. Examples of the type of organization we may disclose information to as required in the daily business of the credit union is the CUNA Mutual Insurance Group (our insurance company), AMIS (our accounting software provider), and Century Heritage Federal Credit Union, with which we have a joint marketing agreement to offer used car loans.
Safeguarding Member Information. Only Board members, select volunteers and committee members have access to your information. The Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee are responsible for the oversight of our Privacy Policy. All of the individuals with access to your information are required to read and understand our Privacy Policy and understand that disciplinary action and even legal action will be taken for any violation of the policy.
USA PATRIOT ACT DISCLOSURE. Federal law, as described in Section 326 of the USA Patriot Act, required all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask to see your driver’s license or other forms of identification and record information from them. Under certain circumstances we may be required to report this information to the federal government.
